Geoff Loane is a veteran humanitarian leader with decades of experience at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where he served as Head of Delegation in Africa, Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He worked extensively with governments and armed groups to negotiate humanitarian access and protection for people affected by armed conflict and later led the ICRC's education initiatives to help ensure continuity of learning during conflict. Geoff is a widely published author and speaker on humanitarian policy, international humanitarian law, and the unintended consequences of humanitarian assistance. He currently serves as a mediator in Northern Ireland and Chair of the CDAC Network, promoting community-led approaches to humanitarian action.
