Anjana Dayal de Prewitt is a globally recognized humanitarian leader and peacebuilder with more than two decades of experience advancing gender equity, community engagement, and psychosocial support across more than 30 conflicts and disaster-affected countries. She has held senior leadership roles with the American Red Cross, Save the Children, and across the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, where she led multimillion-dollar initiatives and contributed to organizational change, policy development and field-based practice.
Anjana combines lived experience, field insight, and reflective storytelling to explore resilience, humanitarian identity, healing, and social justice. Her writing has been published in academic journals and books, as well as her blog, Peace Calls. Currently, she serves on the Board of the Euphrates Institute and GLOW Red Secretariat, a global network of women leaders within the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
Anjana holds a master’s in Sustainable Peace from the UN-mandated University for Peace (Costa Rica) and a bachelor’s in psychology from Isabella Thoburn College (India). She is a certified Humanitarian Diplomat and Inclusive Leadership Coach. Fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu and Spanish. She continues to write, speak and build bridges across cultures — believing deeply that compassion, courage, and human connection can transform systems and hearts.
