Local Voices, National Impact: Advancing Vaccine Conversations at the Regional Level

Join us for a series of discussions about important current events and IFRC and ICRC responses to conflicts, disasters and forced migration through the people directly involved at locations around the world. Hear about such topics as the state of Ebola, the Syrian crisis, Iran and Venezuela, as well as news from right here in the U.S.

  • MRP program at the regional level: a case for vaccine advocacy in our communities – Dr. Annalicia Pickering
  • A Case Study - Learnings from the Red Cross NCCR MRP Vaccine Documentary Project – Peter Gorge and Neha Rane. 
  • Youth Advocacy: Spotlight on the next generation taking forward global health and vaccine advocacy – Sahngwie Yim, Sri Nair and Anishka Duvvuri.

Presenters

James Noe is the Senior Program Manager for the Measles & Rubella Partnership (M&RP) in the International Services Department of the American Red Cross.

Dr. Annalicia Pickering is a pediatrician on faculty at Stanford University. She is a Co-Director for the NCCR Measles Rubella Partnership for the American Red Cross.

Neha Rane is a MPH student at Johns Hopkins and a microbiologist working at Roche Diagnostics in Santa Clara.

Peter Gorge is a third-year pre-med student at UC Davis studying human biology. He joined the Red Cross MRP documentary team with a commitment to educating youth about infectious diseases, immunology, and vaccines.

Sahngwie Yim is a senior at The Harker School and joined the Northern California and Central Coast Measles and Rubella Partnership Team last year, where she is currently working on the documentary team and the webinar series.

Srilalitha (Sri) Nair is a highschool senior at Basis and is the Communications Coordinator for the Silicon Valley Youth Executive Board.

Anishka Duvvuri is a high school senior at Basis Independent Silicon Valley. This fall, she will be pursuing Public Health Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
