Susan Murray hangs up Red Cross after 20 years – Joins ARCAN

Susan Murray, American Red Cross Director of Philanthropy, joined ARCAN last month after sharing on LinkedIn that she was ‘hanging up her Red Cross vest’ after more than twenty years with the organization.

“Throughout innumerable crises from 9/11 and Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey, I fell head over heels for the honorable humanitarian Red Cross mission and the heroic people it attracted – from Clara Barton to Gail McGovern [and] many amazing friends,” said Susan. “I feel grateful to have worked with you to empower people and communities to bring hope, comfort, and speedy help to those in most need. Thanks to so many of you who have helped make my career so rewarding.”

Susan said she will turn her energies to her family and to voter registration efforts, “with the optimism, creativity and determination of a Red Crosser…”
